Looking for a little pick me up, so I thought I'd do this meme that I stole from =hiritai :

Well, I'm going to cheat and post a paragraph or so from each one. It was pretty fun going back through my old stuff and remembering things, even if I only thought they were funny or good at the time. Anyway, it's going to be really long, and I expect no one will read through the whole thing, but oh well. 83 I had fun doing this.


1. "I knew something was wrong with me the moment I walked into high school. Well, after a few minutes, anyway, but it didn’t take long for this fact to present itself. And present itself it did. With a huge red hand mark on my left cheek before I’d even figured out where my first period was."

2. “How is he doing?" “What do you think?” “Is... is this test really necessary?” “...why do you question what you already know?” “...isn’t there something else that can be done?”

3. “I’m dead.” “Really?! You’re dead? ...can I poke you?” “Whatever, kid.” “Are you an angel?” “Whatever, kid.” “I’m taking you home so you can grant my wishes!!” “...whatever, kid.”

4. "I’ll cut to the chase. I’ve been called just about every terrible, insulting, and hurtful name you could come up with. You’d think that would have made me immune or something. I don’t know about that, but after a while, let me tell you: you’ll start to believe them. You could be the strongest person in the world, and after at least a full year of people telling you that you’re dirt, you’re going to start seeing the dirty patches all over yourself, at least.

So you can imagine that social interaction isn’t one of my favorite pastimes."

5. "It’s out here that I can remember them. Out here where song can float freely among the breeze, and be listened to by the trees and sky and heavens... and not be judged. Not be berated for its shortcomings, not be looked down upon because it isn’t what was expected, nor be compared to anything else. It’s out here... that is the only place I feel that I can do what I care about most."

6. "There crouched Covjan, gently stroking a powdery white creature with long fluffy- looking fur, a pointed beakish mouth, sharp and alert piercing, yellow-golden eyes. Clear, crystal-like claws sliced out of its front and back paws, curved graceful wings folded neatly across its back, and a long, flowing, sleek tail that came to a tuft at the end. The creature’s fuzzy and silky ears that looked similar to a rabbit’s twitched slightly, confirming to itself of her existence in the corner. This is it... she thought to herself, This...is a dragon."

7. "While the man reached into a pocket of his pants, Rina noticed his outfit. He wore a full suit, the color a shade of slate blue, and the suit coat looked like he had just bought it, save a few wrinkles. This was a great contrast to the pants, which were scuffed and dirtied up terribly, and ripped in places. His black shoes matched the pants, horribly scratched and grubby."

8. " ”Shut up!!! You were always the best, the best at this, the best at that, always the one with all the attention. It was sickening, you didn’t even need to try!! And then, like a fool, you turned down a position in the military! I took it, but they wanted you! So I was the one assigned to get you on the force!!” He spat out every word as if it were boiling poison. "

9. " The silence was finally broken by King Lakin, who sighed. "King Pheonyx," he said calmly, and wore a slightly amused expression, "have you been paying attention?"
"What... are you doing?" King Leniyu added.
"Of course I have been paying attention, Lakin. How could I do otherwise? In regards to your question, King Leniyu; I am balancing my council crown on my nose." "

10. "So, here it is. The battle rages around me, I see my men fall left and right. Half of me is cool, calm, and collected, continuing to fight and shout orders. But the other half of me... is terrified. Terrified of what’s happening. Terrified of what I’m doing. Terrified of what could happen. Terrified of those ultimate, horrific consequences."

11. "Vincent Valentine sighed. It was that time of the month again.

Yes. That glorious time of the month when the entire life Cloud Strife revolved around nothing but a large, yellow, and slightly ugly (in Vincent's personal opinion) bird. Cloud's monthly splurge at the Golden Saucer of chocobo racing."

12. "I wandered out towards the door, wiping away the tears, hurt and confused, and when I looked down at my hands, I saw blood and panicked. I didn't know where it had come from, and so I started crying again, and soon I realized that it was coming from my eyes. I tried running to find a bucket of water, the shiny plate my mother had... anything to look at myself... I finally found it; the shiny plate my mother kept for special occasions. I held it out in front of me... and couldn't see anything. I stared at it... seeing only the walls behind me... I pushed it closer and closer to my face... still nothing."

13. "Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and in walked a beautiful female with long dark auburn hair and soft blue eyes. He smiled up at the woman, loving to look at her eyes; they looked like the sky in the summer, much like those days when it’s all just sky and nothing else.
“Hi momma,” he said smiling and running to give her a hug."

14. "< I assume you know your mission. You were well-briefed on this one.>

~Yes. I am aware of the objectives.~

<Good. We're counting on you. You're the only one who can do it.>

~I know.~"

15. "He punched the red-haired runt square on the nose. The small demon blinked back tears, sitting on the ground due to the punch, before staring back up at him with enormous silver eyes. “Don’t you wanna be friends?” “You haven’t gotten the hint yet? Here’s another one.” The memory began to fade just as he began kicking the small demon ruthlessly."

16. "Out in the dusty valley, a lone horse and rider plodded through the shimmering air and glittering sands. The riders head was bowed, and bounced with each rhythmic step his steed takes. Dust-covered spurs, that once shone as bright as the nighttime lights in the sky, protruded from its boots; unused for a long time. A tall, wide-brimmed hat sat snugly on the figure’s head, and a large dark-colored cloak covered everything that might be distinguishable down to the soles of the boots, hanging loosely out of their saddle straps. The reigns swung in front of the beast’s ever-moving forelegs, not quite long enough to tap the horse’s legs."

17. "The golden-haired prisoner sighed. “Surely you should have known, warden sir. The crime that I was accused of and sentenced here for life was ‘witchcraft’. Such an odd thing to be accused of, I thought. Do I look like a witch to you? Really, you can tell me straight.” "


Wow, I commend you if you got through all that muck. Ah well, this was mostly fun for me. ^^ If you have any guesses on what sorts of things these are from, or want to hear/know more about one, I might tell you a few things. ;3
